Savory Cottage Cheese Bowl: 24g of Protein in About a Cup
Published October 15, 2026. General information, not medical advice.
Some days a full plate is the problem. You sit down hungry for about four bites and then you are done. If those four bites are mostly crackers or salad, the protein never shows up.
This bowl puts the protein first. It is one cup of cottage cheese with a little cucumber, tomato and olive oil on top. It takes about three minutes and there is nothing to cook.
What you need
- 1 cup 2% cottage cheese
- A few cucumber slices, diced
- 1/4 tomato, diced
- 1/2 tsp olive oil
- Pepper and a pinch of salt, if you like
How to make it
- Spoon the cottage cheese into a small bowl.
- Top with the cucumber, tomato and olive oil.
- Add pepper and a pinch of salt if you like. Eat it right away.
The numbers
About 24g of protein and about 220 calories for the whole bowl. Values are approximate and change a little with the brand of cottage cheese you buy, so check your label.
On a queasy day
Serve it very cold and skip the seasoning. Plain, cold and quiet is often easier to get down than anything with a strong smell. If the cottage cheese texture is the issue, stir it until it is smoother, or try the pudding or tuna versions in the free recipe pack below.
Why it works for a small appetite
A cup of cottage cheese is small enough to finish and still gives you a real amount of protein. The vegetables add some crunch and freshness without filling you up. If you are eating less than you used to, picking foods where every bite counts is the whole idea.
