Lemon Tuna Cucumber Rounds: 25g of Protein, No Cooking

Published October 15, 2026. General information, not medical advice.

When your appetite is small, cold food is often easier than hot food. Hot food smells stronger, and a strong smell can end the meal before it starts.

These tuna rounds are cold, bright and quick. The cucumber does the job of a cracker without the filling carbs, and the Greek yogurt keeps the tuna creamy without mayonnaise.

What you need

  • 1 small can tuna in water, drained
  • 1 tbsp plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cucumber, sliced into rounds

How to make it

  1. Mix the tuna, yogurt and lemon juice with a fork.
  2. Pile it onto the cucumber rounds.

That is all of it. Five minutes, one bowl, one fork.

The numbers

About 25g of protein and about 130 calories. Values are approximate and depend on the size of your can and your brands.

Make it gentler

Leave out the lemon and eat it plain and very cold. The tuna mix keeps for about 2 days in the fridge, so you can make it ahead and just slice the cucumber when you want it.

A note on tuna

Canned tuna is a handy protein, but fish guidance can change and is different for some people, including anyone who is pregnant or planning to be. Check the FDA's current advice on fish if that applies to you, and ask your own doctor or dietitian if you are unsure.
