Cottage Cheese Pancake Minis: 25g of Protein in Four Small Pancakes

Published October 19, 2026. General information, not medical advice.

Cottage cheese does something nice in a pancake. It makes the middle soft and moist, and it brings the protein with it, so a few small pancakes can carry a whole breakfast.

These are made in a blender, which means no whisking and very little cleanup. They come out small on purpose, so a serving is four little pancakes and not a stack.

What you need

  • 1/2 cup 1% cottage cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup oats
  • 2 tsp maple syrup, for the top
  • A little oil for the pan

How to make them

  1. Blend the cottage cheese, egg and oats until smooth.
  2. Cook 4 small pancakes in a lightly oiled pan, about 2 minutes per side.
  3. Top with the maple syrup.

The numbers

About 25g of protein and about 300 calories for all four pancakes. Values are approximate.

On a queasy day

Cook them until they are very soft and serve them plain, without toppings. Warm is usually easier than hot.

Storing them

They keep in the fridge for about two days. Reheat them gently in a pan or the microwave.
